Project Management Internship – Woods Construction & Interiors

Woods Construction & Interiors is searching for students interested in project management for our summer internship program. As a Project Management Intern, students will gain real-world experience working and collaborating with members of the Woods project team on project bids, management, preparation, and completion. Woods Construction has four key program objectives for our summer internship program:

  • Support the student in integrating classroom theory with practical application and skills developed in a professional setting
  • Promote a better understanding of the diverse career opportunities the Construction Management field offers
  • Encourage Woods Culture and provide beyond the classroom exposure to our “niche” in the construction industry
  • Aid the student in maintaining compliance with all OSHA & Woods Construction workplace safety and health standards

Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to plan and prioritize individual contributions and those of team members to achieve high quality, timely results
  • Dependable and punctual for all work-related commitments
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent ability to identify and understand requirements of the project team and to participate in collaborative problem-solving
  • Ability to always maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor and appearance
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and a working knowledge of project management software
  • Solid math and analytical skills, and the ability to apply these skills to achieve accurate project budgeting and basic estimating for project scope changes
  • Ability to assist in the project bidding, prep, management, & closeout processes


  • Must be enrolled in a Construction Management, Construction Technology, or Construction-Related Engineering Program at an accredited college/university (ACCE or ABET)
  • Must have achieved “Junior” status in collegiate career to be eligible
  • Successful completion of classes or other training or experience in construction management, project management, safety, communication, and ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding
  • Ability to conceptualize the “big picture” from design/drawings, specifications, submittals, and other construction documents
  • Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
