ConstructReach is a workforce development initiative and consultancy that builds reachable opportunities through construction. Our organization is an ecosystem that serves General Contractors, secondary and post-secondary educators and students, and Corporations. We help consulting clients better hire, develop, and manage a multi-generational and multi-ethnic workforce.Through our offerings, we ensure workforce pipelines are filled and that companies can build and sustain a culture that promotes access and diversity of thought. From internship and onboarding programs, to recruitment and retention processes, we keep Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) top-of mind. In addition, we educate students about career opportunities within construction, connect companies to interns and innovative curricula, create “I built this!” experiences, and unite stakeholders to ensure the construction industry continues to thrive.
Why Do We Do It?
The construction industry is facing a workforce crisis—and construction fuels the economy.
When building stops, almost everything else does as well. With a continuous employee pipeline, we can prevent key economic indicators from crumbling.
The construction industry is facing a 4 million job deficit in the next 6 years. Over half the workforce in skilled construction is nearing retirement age—and is expected to retire by 2031, but:
- Less than 8% of high school graduates are pursuing a career in construction
- Only 14% of college graduates are pursuing careers in construction
- Less than 11% of construction employees are women
- Less than 6% of construction employees are Black
- Less than 2% of construction employees are Asian
- 20-30% of construction employees are Latino; despite this they are significantly underrepresented in leadership positions
